Keep The Faith leads roster at Greta West Stud

Tuesday, 14 June 2016

Greta West Stud has released its service fees after a winning long-weekend for its three stallions.

KEEP THE FAITH sprinter Ilgattino maintained his good form for trainer Symon Wilde on the first day of the Swan Hill Cup carnival.  He appreciated the Soft 6 surface and finished strongly under Josh Cartwright to claim the Think Water Hcp (1200m) on Friday.

Ilgattino had also won during Wilde’s home-town carnival in Warrnambool last month and the Swan Hill result improved his record to 6 wins for earnings of $209,000.

Keep The Faith sired Group 1 sprinter-miler Trust In A Gust and his strike-rate has climbed to a career-high 70% winners-to-runners.  He represents the world-renowned Sunday Silence sireline and will stand for $3,300 (inc gst).

GOD’S OWN galloper Red Almighty chimed in for a slice of the Swan Hill prizemoney on Sunday.  Trainer locally by Con Kelly, he won the Evergreen Turf Hcp (1200m) improving his own strike-rate to 4 wins in 8 starts this year.

A Group 1 winner of the Caulfield Guineas, God’s Own is by champion sire of sires Redoute’s Choice and has sired the winners of 454 races in the last four seasons.  He’s priced to target owner-breeders at a $3,300 (inc gst) fee.

KING OF PRUSSIA sired his latest new winner when The Desperate scored by 5 lengths in the Jansz Maiden (1200m) at Mowbray on Sunday.

The three year-old is from the same crop as King Of Prussia flyer Prussian Vixen who won at Mornington (2), Pakenham and Cranbourne during her most recent campaign for owner-trainer Michael Mehegan.

King Of Prussia (Anabaa) has sired 134 individual winners at a 57% strike-rate and he is available at a $2,200 (inc gst) fee.

Greta West Stud owners Laurie and John McCarthy also operate a thriving agistment business in a catchment area renowned for steady rainfall in north-east Victoria.  G1 Newmarket Hcp winner The Quarterback spelled there and G1 Randwick Guineas winner Le Romain was bred and reared at Greta West.
