Godís Own mare Angelic Lass can climax a marvellous month for Tatura owner-trainer Philip Evans at Caulfield on August 31.
Lass (5m Godís Own Ė Carnival Lass by Dehere) provided Evans with his
first-ever win at Flemington last week and heís hoping she can double up
in a similar event for mares in a fortnight.
ďShe always races in the firing line and a good barrier will help over 1400m at Caulfield,Ē Evans predicted.
Thor would have made it a winning double for Godís Own at Flemington
but for losing a plate in running. He was a firming $2.80 favourite and
flew home to be beaten a nose by Clang And Bang at headquarters. His
turn isnít far away.
Evans also welcomed another Godís Own into
the world last week. His Good Journey mare Liberty Style foaled a filly
by the Greta West Stud stallion on Tuesday. She is closely related to
the stakes winners Bella Valentina (Adelaide) and Miss Millbrook (NZ).
Own (Redouteís Choice) will stand for a $5,500 (inc gst) service fee at
Greta West this year alongside Keep The Faith (Sunday Silence) and King
Of Prussia (Anabaa).
