Soldi Domani in the Money
Monday, 15 December 2014

Queensland colt Soldi Domani has confirmed his status as one of the State's smartest three year-olds in the LR Gold Edition Plate (1200m) at Doomben.

Soldi Domani (3c Keep The Faith - Bel Jadore by Bel Esprit) has shown black-type potential from the outset and becomes the 6th stakes winner by Greta West Stud's Group 1 stallion Keep The Faith.

Prepared by Bryan Dais for owner Craig Morrissey, he raced away in the concluding stages to beat She's Miss Devine by more than two lengths on Saturday.

"I said he was a very good horse after his maiden at Doomben back in August," Dais said.  "We sent him down the Melbourne for the Caulfield Guineas but came straight back home after he failed to run out 1400 metres in the Prelude."

Soldi Domani is Italian for 'Money Tomorrow' and he will have one more run in the G3 Vo Rogue Plate (1300m) at the Gold Coast on December 27 before going out for a break in readiness for the winter carnival.  He was a $52,500 buy at the 2013 Magic Millions 2YO HIT Sale and has now earned over $115,000.

Former Essendon and Greater Western Sydney AFL coach Kevin Sheedy bred him by using Keep The Faith over lightly raced Bel Esprit mare Bel Jadore.  The dam is from an international black-type family headed by Longchamp G1 Prix Lupin winner Persepolis (Kalamoun).

Sheedy was part of the syndicate that raced Bel Esprit to Group 1 victories in the 2002 Blue Diamond and 2003 Doomben 10,000.  He stands at Eliza Park International and has won the last seven Victorian sires' titles in a row.
