Progressive Son by Keep The Faith
Saturday, 26 December 2015

Trainer Dylan Clark always maintained Son Of Faith would make an impact with maturity and he's living up to that promise with three wins in his last four starts.

As the named suggests, he's a son of Greta West Stud sire Keep The Faith and was very impressive powering home for a two-length victory in Steve's Liquor Hcp (1200m) on Wednesday.

Son Of Faith broke his maiden in June and has kept improving with two wins in Launceston this month.  "He was headstrong early but is pretty quiet at home now," Clark said.  "He quickened off the corner and it was a better win than last time.  We will take him along gradually and space his runs."

The lightly-raced gelding is owned by a 15-member syndicate from the Devonport Racing Club.  His dam Star Jeune (Jeune) won 8 races and his older brother Diocese won a couple for Adam Trinder before going amiss.

"Dylan has done a magnificent job with this horse," syndicate manager Graham Russell said.  "He was a buckjumper and is still a work in progress."

Keep the Faith (Sunday Silence) sired a double at the Tasmanian Stakes meeting thanks to an earlier win by Faith In Georgina.  The Greta West stallion added another on Xmas Eve when Little Miss Rocker was successful at Ipswich.
